What’s new in PostgreSQL 16: Key features and enhancements
On 14th September 2023, the PostgreSQL Global Development Group announced the release of
PostgreSQL 16, the latest version of the world's most advanced open source database.
PostgreSQL 16 offers many new features and enhancements that improve its performance, functionality, and
security. Some of the highlights are:
- Parallel query execution
- Logical replication
- SQL/JSON support
- Vacuum freezing
These features enable faster and more flexible data processing, replication, and manipulation, as well as better data consistency and compatibility.
