Our development team once again has put in another tremendous effort and is excited to unveil the latest version of Fujitsu Enterprise Postgres.
Unveiling our latest version:
Enhanced security and additional supported platforms
We are excited to announce the release of Fujitsu Enterprise Postgres 16.
This latest version brings enhanced log capabilities, extended operability, and various other improvements.
Take a look below as I take you through them.
- PostgreSQL rebase
- Fujitsu Enterprise Postgres 16 is based on PostgreSQL 16.2.
- This includes improved performance for join, aggregate function, enhanced logical replication from standby instance or bidirectional and many newer features.
The full list can be viewed here.
- Improved WebAdmin
- WebAdmin, our GUI-based program used to manage database instances, has been enhanced to meet global standard design principles, ensuring a modern and cohesive look. It features a simple and intuitive interface, making it easy for users to navigate and perform tasks efficiently.
For more information on WebAdmin, refer to Cluster Operation Guide > Managing Mirroring Controller Using WebAdmin.
- User synchronization using ldap2pg
- Easier and more efficient security operations by integration with ldap2pg.
In an operator environment, Fujitsu Enterprise Postgres user accounts can be automatically synchronized with the LDAP directory on a regular basis.
For details, refer to Installation and Setup Guide for Client > ldap2pg.
- Easier and more efficient security operations by integration with ldap2pg.
- Scalable audit log
- By using the scalable audit log feature, you can now capture audit logs without performance degradation, even for systems with high application multiplicity and large amounts of audit logs.
For details, refer to Security Operation Guide > Log audit feature.
- Improved pg_dbms_stats
- A tool to manage statistic information and indirectly control execution plan, so that expected statistic information is always used.
For details, refer to Operation Guide > Enhanced query plan stability.
- Fixed statistics
- Operator can schedule statistics to be fixed. The user simply defines a schedule in the FEPCluster custom resource, and the operator automatically fixes the statistics that the user intended.
For details, refer to Operation Guide > Fixing the height of a Btree index.
- Log collection tool
- Our Information Collection Tool, called FJQSS, was added to the Kubernetes version of Fujitsu Enterprise Postgres16. This tool retrieves logs, environment information, and statistics from containers running on a specified cluster on Kubernetes/OpenShift. This is very useful tool at the time of high priority incidents where time is very critical.
You can learn more about the Information Collection Tool at the FJQSS User Guide.
- Additional operating system support for .NET Data Provider
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.2
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.2
- SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 15 SP3
